Job Description

The role focuses on data analysis, insight generation, and model-driven decision support within Financial Crime Operations, specifically for payment screening and sanctions processes. The Data Scientist will analyze large-scale transactional datasets, identify trends, and develop analytical outputs to support risk mitigation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
– Identification, collection, and extraction of data; performing data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation
– Designing statistical and machine learning models to analyze patterns/trends and forecasting future outcomes
– Creating and maintaining efficient data pipelines for automated acquisition and processing
– Working with business stakeholders to identify value-add opportunities; communicating analysis, trends, and MI to a range of audiences
– Supporting automation initiatives, MI reporting, and taking responsibility for managing risk and strengthening controls
– Understand Financial Crime preventative measures, systems, and operational processes

Requirements:
– Write high-quality code in Python and SQL
– Visualize data using Power BI and Tableau
– Build and maintain analytical tools through programming
– Experiment with various analytical methods/techniques
– Ability to manage tight deadlines with accuracy
– Strong communication and coordination skills
– Detail-oriented ownership of deliverables
– Ability to work with operations, controls, and senior stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights

Desirable Experience:
– Experience in the Financial Crime Operations domain
– Understanding of end-to-end payment flows
– In-depth technical knowledge and experience in data & analytics

Skills Required:
– Technical: Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Machine Learning, Statistical Modeling
– Soft Skills: Strong communication and coordination, strategic thinking, business acumen, ability to manage tight deadlines
