Job Description

BCN PEG CoE provides specialized support to global teams across the private equity value chain, enabling clients to make key investment decisions. Our expertise lies in addressing critical diligence questions through products such as survey analytics, digital diagnostic, workforce analytics, and disruption assessment. Our teams work in a fast-paced environment delivering consistent and impactful results at scale. In the last decade, we have grown from ~10 members in 2013 to more than 250 members today. We operate from 4 locations – 2 in India, 1 in Poland, and 1 in Mexico – across all 3 regions (EMEA, Americas, and APAC), working across industries including Technology, Consumer Products, Retail, and Healthcare.

What You’ll Do:
– Bring specialized technical knowledge to product development of internal tools as well as end client delivery of cases
– Write clean, reusable, testable, and efficient code to develop scalable, flexible, user-friendly applications across a robust technology stack including AI and LLMs
– Design, build, and maintain AI-powered applications using LLMs (especially OpenAI Models) and related technologies
– Implement Python-based API integrations with LLM platforms for use cases such as summarization, classification, extraction, reasoning, and workflow automation
– Evaluate potential technologies for adoption, including new frameworks, libraries, and tools
– Support the supervisor in work planning and brainstorming projects
– Understand client needs and situations and adapt to case expectations; resolve complex problems by applying relevant analytical/technical tools
– Contribute actively to internal meetings and stakeholder discussions
– Structure communication of insights from own workstream and deliver clear, professional presentations
– Seek coaching and guidance from supervisors and proactively drive self-learning
– Support team culture through collaboration, ownership, and role-model behavior
– Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to fellow team members
– Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and internal training within PEG and the broader BCN community

Must-Have Skills:
– Strong programming skills in Python and its frameworks (FastAPI/Flask), with proven experience in enterprise service layer delivery
– Core data processing and analytics skills via Python (Pandas, NumPy, Xlsxwriter)
– Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI’s Responses API), including prompt design, response handling, and vector embedding in respective databases
– Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating external services, along with ORM libraries
– Familiarity with modern development tools like Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
– Good understanding of relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
– Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
– Understanding of front-end and back-end architecture and design principles
– Sound SDLC skills, preferably with agile experience
– Quick learner, detail-oriented, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independently
– Excellent English communication skills, able to interface across cross-functional teams

Good-to-Have Skills:
– Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as Angular, React, and HTMX
– Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and components like EC2, Lambda, and S3
– Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and NLP
– Basic understanding of web services protocols such as SOAP and GraphQL

Educational Qualification & Professional Experience:
– Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
– Strong academic credentials, analytical ability, and leadership skills
– 2-5 years of backend software development experience (if highest qualification is undergraduate) or 0-3 years (if highest qualification is postgraduate), preferably with 1 year of exposure to business research and consulting.
