Job Description
SentinelOne is hiring a Staff Software Engineer – Frontend to join its On-Prem team, building customer-facing security experiences. This role focuses on designing and building scalable web applications that help customers understand their security posture, investigate risks, and take action through a unified management console. The engineer will operate above the individual-contributor line, helping define frontend engineering standards, mentoring senior engineers, and driving architectural decisions across multiple product areas.
Key Responsibilities:
– Build and evolve modern, scalable frontend applications using React and related web technologies
– Own implementation of new features, user journeys, and pages in a customer-facing security product
– Define and drive frontend architecture standards across multiple teams, focusing on maintainability, performance, and developer productivity
– Own the roadmap and evolution of the shared component library and common frontend infrastructure
– Set technical direction for frontend engineering practices, tooling, and patterns org-wide
– Partner cross-functionally with design systems, backend platform, and product teams
– Mentor and uplevel senior engineers via code reviews and design reviews
– Integrate frontend experiences with REST APIs and backend services, including data-dense dashboards and real-time telemetry feeds
– Improve and maintain existing systems while introducing better tooling and patterns
Required Skills & Qualifications:
– Strong hands-on experience building production-grade web applications at scale
– Deep understanding of JavaScript (DOM, object model, modern ECMAScript)
– Strong proficiency with React and its core principles
– Strong experience with TypeScript, component-driven development, and reusable UI patterns
– Experience owning or significantly contributing to a shared component library or design system
– Experience integrating REST APIs with real-time data and large datasets
– Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS, and modern browser-based development
– Familiarity with frontend build tools such as Webpack, NPM
– Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross-team influencing skills
Bonus Skills:
– Open source contributions
– Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex)
– Node.js or full-stack exposure
– Experience with agile development processes
