College of Engineering Welcomes New Assistant Director of Development, Stacy Seger

Stacy Seger has recently been appointed as the assistant director of development at the College of Engineering. She will report to John Fray, who was promoted to director of development in the fall of last year.

Seger has had several notable experiences in her career that will no doubt make her a valuable asset to the team. For instance, she honed her fundraising skills while serving as development director of the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter in Rogers, where she was responsible for increasing corporate and private gifts over a period of three years. She also managed a budget of $2 million during her tenure at the shelter, and her leadership resulted in the most successful signature fundraising event in 2022.

Moreover, Seger has served as a senior pastor at two different churches, which further attests to her leadership abilities. At the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where she served from 2013 to 2019, she oversaw all areas of the ministry. This included supervising staff and volunteers, managing large budgets, and conducting fundraising and outreach. She then went on to serve as pastor of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bentonville from 2008 to 2013. During her time at both churches, she demonstrated strong organizational and interpersonal skills that will undoubtedly be useful in her new role.

Seger has an educational background that is equally impressive. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and liberal arts for the human services from the University of Minnesota, Morris. She also has a Master of Divinity in pastoral leadership, counseling, and nonprofit leadership from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Currently residing in Centerton with her husband, Silas, and their two children, Sam and Sophie, Seger is excited to begin her new role at the College of Engineering. Bill Lansden, senior director of development, expressed his confidence in her leadership and fundraising abilities, saying that she will be an invaluable asset to the team. Lansden leads a team of seven individuals, including Fray, Seger, and several specialists who will all contribute to the growth and transformation of the college.

Seger, for her part, is eager to hit the ground running and support Dean Kim Needy’s vision for the college. She loves building relationships and rallying people around a shared mission, which will be instrumental in her new role. Overall, Seger’s diverse experiences and strong educational background make her an excellent addition to the College of Engineering’s team, and she is sure to make a significant impact in her new role.
