Tension in Andhra Pradesh as Officials Demolish Illegal Structures at Miracle Software Systems and Engineering College

Miracle Software Systems and Engineering College Accuses District Administration of Violating Court Orders During Demolition of Illegal Structures

The tense situation at Miracle Software Systems and Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh escalated when the company management accused the district administration of violating court stay orders and forcefully demolishing the alleged illegal structures. The management claimed that the demolition was carried out without prior notice or any chance for them to provide relevant documents. On the other hand, the district administration maintained that the structures were built without proper permissions and were causing harm to the environment. The demolition drive, which lasted for over four hours, was met with resistance from the company employees and students, resulting in a heated altercation with the police.

The situation at Miracle Software Systems and Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh took a political turn when the company’s chairman, Lokam Prasad, and managing director, Lokam Madhavi, both leaders of the Jana Sena Party (JSP), opposed the demolition drive. They alleged that the district administration had overstepped its authority by violating the court’s stay order and carrying out the demolition without any prior notice. The JSP leaders further accused the ruling government of using the district administration to settle political scores and suppress the voice of the opposition. The involvement of political leaders added to the tension and led to a greater outcry from the employees and students of the college.

“As JSP leaders, we had fought against the injustice meted out to the displaced families of the proposed Bhogapuram airport. The ruling party leaders, who did not like our agitation, started accusing us of resorting to encroachments. They forced the officers to bring earthmovers and dig the roads, making the stretch inaccessible to the students and the company employees,” alleged Mr. Prasad.

Ms. Madhavi said they would shift their operations to Telangana if the YSRCP government failed to stop its ‘political vendetta.”

Following the tense situation at Miracle Software Systems and Engineering College in Andhra Pradesh, company leaders Lokam Prasad and Lokam Madhavi reportedly left for Hyderabad to meet with Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan and seek his support in the matter. They plan to explain the alleged injustice meted out to them by the district administration and the ruling government.

In response to the allegations, district Collector A. Suryakumari and Revenue Divisional Officer M.V. Suryakala spoke to The Hindu and clarified that the government had identified encroachments and “illegal structures” near canals. Ms. Suryakala added that the Revenue officials had served notices to the company management before taking up the demolition drive. However, the company management disputed these claims and stated that they had not received any notice from the officials. The differing accounts have added to the confusion and unrest in the area.
