Kerala Chief Minister to Kick Off KSUM’s IEDC Summit on October 12

On October 12, the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, will inaugurate the eighth edition of Asia’s largest conclave for aspiring student entrepreneurs, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centres (IEDC) Summit. Organized by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) in collaboration with the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET), this year’s summit, themed “Circle of Innovation,” aims to unite innovators from diverse fields.

The event will commence at 11 a.m. on CET’s campus and will feature prominent personalities and entrepreneurs as speakers. Anticipating over 10,000 participants, the IEDC Summit’s primary goal is to raise awareness and identify potential entrepreneurs at the undergraduate level.

KSUM oversees 453 IEDCs in various educational institutions across Kerala, providing students with opportunities to learn, collaborate, and transform their innovative concepts into practical products and services. These initiatives span a wide array of domains, including agriculture, medicine, polytechnics, and engineering.

Highlighting the summit’s significance in nurturing student innovators, KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika stressed that the event will serve as a launching pad for aspiring student innovators and budding entrepreneurship enthusiasts. The summit will broaden the horizons of student innovators by enhancing their technical expertise, promoting skill development, and enhancing financial literacy.

Dr. R Bindu, the Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, will preside over the event, which will also be attended by Dr. Rathan U Kelkar, the State Electronics and IT Secretary, and the KSUM CEO.

This summit will gather the most ambitious and innovative student entrepreneurs from across the state to exchange ideas, share experiences, and disseminate knowledge. The event combines activities from various domains, encompassing technology, entrepreneurship, and skill development, while providing a platform for students to connect with industry leaders and startups, fostering opportunities for networking and engagement.

KSUM, as the Kerala Government’s nodal agency for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities, continues to play a pivotal role in supporting entrepreneurial growth within the state.
