Job Description

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Quality Control Engineer (Transformers Testing) to join its Savli, Gujarat facility. The role requires adequate knowledge and understanding of relevant national and international standards such as IS/IEC, the ability to read and understand various electrical schematic drawings, and the ability to trace and resolve both electrical and mechanical faults by referring to technical documents. The candidate must have prior experience in the Testing, Calibration, or Service field and be familiar with testing equipment, transformer testing, and laboratory requirements. Basic knowledge of switchgear products and the ability to carry out electrical wiring independently are also required. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, managing day-to-day workload while maintaining 5S and HSE standards, and should be familiar with practices such as 5S and KAIZEN. Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams such as production, stores, quality, and marketing/planning is expected, along with the ability to independently handle customer inspections and knowledge of equipment calibration and certification. Knowledge and experience of Type Test is an added advantage.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Possess adequate knowledge and understanding of relevant national and international standards like IS/IEC.
• Understand different kinds of electrical schematic drawings.
• Trace and resolve faults, both electrical and mechanical, by referring to technical documents.
• Apply hands-on experience from the Testing, Calibration, or Service field, with strong knowledge of testing equipment.
• Apply knowledge of transformer testing and laboratory requirements.
• Apply basic knowledge of switchgear products.
• Carry out electrical wiring independently and manage day-to-day workload without compromising 5S and HSE standards.
• Follow practices such as 5S and KAIZEN.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including production, stores, quality, and marketing/planning.
• Handle customer inspections independently.
• Apply knowledge of equipment calibration and certification.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background (Requirements & Skills)

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering with 1st class (above 60 percent).
• Skilled in High Voltage testing, Partial Discharge testing, and NABL requirements; testing experience is an added advantage.
• Quick learner with interest in and ability to master new technologies.
• Good communication skills and proficiency in English and Hindi required.
• Preferred age group: 22 to 29 years.
• Knowledge and experience of Type Test is an added advantage.
