Aim Of The Conference: The ICE Edinburgh Early Careers Network Committee Meeting is carried out by volunteer members on various committees and groups, such as our Edinburgh Early Careers Network. We organize events and activities that bring together like-minded people and give members the opportunity to increase their knowledge, get advice and raise the profile of civil engineering in Scotland.
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is one of the world’s most respected professional engineering associations. Since we were formed 200 years ago, we have attracted some of the most famous and influential civil engineers in history. ICE archives contain records relating to the ICE from its formation to the present including details of all past members. Our archives also include records relating to famous engineers from the past, including James Brindley, John Smeaton, Thomas Telford, and the Rennies, as well as world-famous structures such as Brunel’s Thames Tunnel or the Panama Canal.
Our monthly committee meetings are an excellent opportunity to meet local like-minded graduates, students, apprentices, and technicians within the ICE. It provides a great environment for support and advice no matter what stage you are in your career.
Each of our meetings typically follows a set agenda where we look ahead to upcoming events we are actively organizing as a volunteer group. We always welcome new members along and look forward to hearing new ideas and suggestions on what activities we participate in and host.
Our meetings will be held online unless otherwise stated on this listing. Upon registering your interest, we will contact you with the details for joining the meeting and provide a copy of any relevant meeting documents (agenda and previous meeting minutes for example). Meetings are typically hosted online using Microsoft Teams and it is recommended that those joining attend at 17:45 for an 18:00 meeting start.
