Grand Engineers Day Celebration at Lendi College in Vizianagaram

Vizianagaram: Lendi College of Engineering recently commemorated Engineers Day with great enthusiasm, honouring the illustrious engineer Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. The campus came alive with a plethora of activities and competitions, showcasing the students’ talents and creativity. These included a dynamic project expo, an intellectually stimulating quiz, thought-provoking essay writing, insightful paper presentations, vibrant painting exhibitions, and a platform for innovative ideas to flourish.

In a momentous address to the students, V Swathi, the E-commerce department’s accomplished team lead consultant at Tvarana Software Solutions, highlighted the profound impact of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya’s contributions on the nation’s progress. His pioneering work and visionary ideas have undeniably paved the way for India’s advancement in engineering and technology, leaving an indelible mark on our nation’s history.

During her engaging interaction with the students, she delved deep into the intricacies of their projects, igniting sparks of innovation and curiosity. Principal, Dr. V. V. Rama Reddy, in his insightful address, urged everyone to not only embrace the evolving landscape of engineering but also to diversify their knowledge across various disciplines, thereby unlocking a myriad of employment opportunities in this ever-changing world.

Adding to the chorus of admiration for India’s technological prowess, College Chairman P. Madhusudana Rao highlighted how the country’s technological achievements continue to captivate the entire globe. He emphasized that our engineering feats resonate as a source of pride, garnering worldwide recognition.

In a nostalgic moment, the college’s Secretary, Shiva Rama Krishna, fondly recalled that Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya’s contributions were celebrated not only within India but also on the international stage. The Indian government honoured him with the prestigious Bharat Ratna, while the British government conferred upon him the title of ‘Sir’ in recognition of his outstanding contributions to engineering.

The event was graced by the presence of Vice-Principal (Admin) Dr. T. Haribabu, Vice-Principal Prof. K. V. Narasimham, and several other distinguished guests, making it a memorable celebration of engineering excellence and innovation.
