NEW DELHI: The Delhi Technological University’s (DTU) Center for Extension and Field Outreach orchestrated a remarkable and immersive “Exploring Engineering” initiative exclusively designed for the bright young minds of Classes 10, 11, and 12 in the Delhi NCR region. Spanning an engaging six-day duration, from June 19 to Saturday, June 24, this one-of-a-kind program aimed to ignite a passion for engineering among the participants. By offering a captivating glimpse into the dynamic realm of engineering, it fostered a deep understanding of its immense potential in shaping and benefiting society at large.
A remarkable cohort of 258 talented students hailing from diverse schools across Delhi NCR eagerly embraced the enriching week-long initiative. This unique program, held at the prestigious Delhi Technological University (DTU), offered these budding engineers hands-on exposure to an array of cutting-edge disciplines. The students delved into the captivating realms of electrical engineering, electronics and communication, computer science, information technology, and design. Under the guidance of accomplished faculty members and industry experts, these aspiring engineers gained invaluable firsthand experiences, uncovering the intricate workings of each department at DTU. This immersive encounter allowed them to explore the boundless possibilities and exciting innovations that lie within these dynamic fields.
Amit Kumar Srivastava, the esteemed dean of the Center for Extension and Field Outreach at DTU, eloquently articulated the primary aim of the extraordinary Exploring Engineering program. He expressed, “Our main objective was to ignite a fiery passion for engineering within the hearts and minds of the students, instilling them with boundless enthusiasm for this transformative field.” Srivastava further emphasized the program’s focus on unraveling the mysteries behind everyday marvels, stating, “We aimed to demystify the workings of technology that surround us, such as understanding the fascinating mechanisms behind a glowing light bulb, unraveling the magic of instantaneous long-distance communication, and exploring the intricacies of data storage.” Through this unique endeavor, the program sought to inspire the participants and fuel their curiosity about the wonders of engineering, empowering them to embark on an exciting journey of innovation and problem-solving.
Madhusudan Singh, the esteemed registrar of DTU, expressed his unwavering belief in the profound impact of the “Exploring Engineering” program on students’ career choices after completing their Class 12 education.
