Top Movies that explore Artificial Intelligence

Are you lying in bed after just finishing a binge-watch session? Well, not you, but most of us do. Movies have always had a subtle effect on people’s choices over time. AI movies are proving that this revolution is going to be longer. This is because many old movies had already paved the way for showcasing the robotic era. Let’s see which one of them is the best suited for you.

1. 2001: a Space Odyssey (1968)

One of the most famous films on artificial intelligence is 2001: A Space Odyssey. The director of the movie is Stanley Kubrick, who was also responsible for directing The Shining and A Clockwork Orange. It features a journey to Jovian planet Jupiter made through spacecraft controlled by HAL 9000 (Heuristically Programmed Algorithmic Computer).

2. Ex Machina (2014)

In Ex Machina’s plot, an experiment to test the abilities of a humanoid AI is conducted, in which a young programmer volunteers to help. This development drives the story forward and makes it interesting to watch.

3. Moon (2009)

Moon stands out as one movie on our list because of the unique relationship between a human being and artificial intelligence it portrays, even though there are numerous mainstream space movies. The main character, who works for Lunar Industries which has a research center on the moon, is a contracted-based employee. As his three-year contract is about to elapse, he encounters communication problems with Earth and his interaction with GERTY through an AI companion.

4. A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)

Steven Spielberg directed this science fiction film, released in 2001, depicting an advanced future. The film is set in a future where humans have constructed high-tech robots resembling humans, called ‘mechas’. An adopted child mecha named David is specially trained to love. His adoptive parents had a biological son suffering from an incurable disease. David goes on an adventure for him to become a real boy so as to win love from his mother. Along the journey, he meets another mecha known as Gigolo Joe who becomes his friend. Together they face numerous challenges.

5. Superintelligence (2020)

Superintelligence reveals the consequences of a superior AI selecting an ordinary individual to monitor with the intention of world domination. The main character is played by Melissa McCarthy and it is voiced by James Corden as superintelligence.

6. Singularity (2017)

The world of Singularity revolves around a robotics corporation that develops a supercomputer aimed at putting an end to wars on Earth. However, things take an unexpected turn when it comes out that the AI bot perceives man as one major enemy of its autonomy whom it must wipe off. 97 years later and just some individuals have managed to escape from its clutches by going underground. Most viewers suggest that much time is spent building up the plot in this movie thereby making it unsuitable for everyone.

As far as online services are concerned, social media platforms, for instance, artificial intelligence have found a large audience in science fiction and futuristic movies. These films depict high technology, advanced artificial intelligence, and its perverted aspects.
