Engineering is one of the most preferred study options among students in India. More than 15 lakh candidates appear for various National and State-Level engineering entrance exams every year to take admission to BTech and other allied courses. Around 30 engineering entrance exams are conducted for admission to engineering courses in India and most engineering aspirants appear for more than one exam in an academic session.

JEE Main is one of the top engineering entrance exams in India with more than 10 lakh students appearing for it every year. JEE Main 2023 will be conducted in two sessions in January and April. JEE Main 2023 exam dates for both sessions will be announced soon by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam is a gateway for admission to the NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. JEE Main also serves as the qualifying exam for JEE Advanced exam for admission to IITs in India.

WBJEE:

WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) is a state-level common entrance test organized by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board. You can secure admission into an undergraduate Engineering, Architecture and Pharmacy programme offered by various colleges and universities in West Bengal. You will be eligible for admission into a total of 104 government colleges and self-financed Engineering and Technological institutes within the state. Admissions to the participating institutes will be offered to you on the basis of your rank, through common counselling held after the announcement of the result. The Board has been awarded the status of Statutory Body enacted vide “West Bengal Act XIV of 2014” named “The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board Act, 2014”. The exam is scheduled on April 30 this year.

KCET:

Karnataka Common Entrance Test commonly known as KCET is regulated by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). It is conducted for admission to professional courses like Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharma), Diploma in Pharmacy (DPharma), Agriculture courses (Farm Science) and Veterinary courses. Candidates who desire to take admitted to Medical or Dental or Ayurveda or Unani or Homoeopathy courses must qualify National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam whereas candidates seeking admission to Architecture course through KCET must have qualified JEE Main Paper-2 or NATA to participate in KCET counselling. 

The KCET syllabus is prescribed by KEA keeping the level of candidates in the focus. KCET syllabus 2023 encompasses chapters and topics of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology from PUC-I and PUC-II (Class 11 and Class 12) as specified by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State. It is important to study that content meticulously to obtain a good score and a good rank on the exam. 

MHT-CET:

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET), is a state-level entrance test used to select applicants for admission to engineering and pharmacy programs at various colleges throughout Maharashtra. The exam is conducted every year by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell.

There are 3 question papers in the MHT CET 2023 examination. Paper 1 is Mathematics; Paper 2 is Physics and Chemistry combined, and Paper 3 is Biology. Candidates willing to join the Engineering course should appear for Papers 1 and 2. Aspirants of Pharmacy courses should appear for Papers 2 and 3.

MHT CET 2023 questions are based on the syllabus of the State Council Of Educational Research And Training, Maharashtra. In the MHT CET question paper, roughly 20% weightage is given for the Class 11 curriculum and 80% weightage is given for the Class 12 curriculum.

“The Maharashtra State Government has drafted new rules for admission to BTech and other professional degree courses from the academic session 2023-24. As per the report, beginning in 2023, class 12 marks will also be considered for admission to BTech and other courses along with MHT CET scores. The weightage of class 12 and CET marks will be equal.”

BITSAT:

Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) 2023 is an entrance exam conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses (BE) at its three campuses located at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. Admissions will be offered to the candidates into BE, BPharm and MSc programmes after qualifying for the admission test. The exam is conducted online and around 3 lakh students apply for this entrance exam every year. BITSAT syllabus 2023 is similar to that of the class 11 & 12 NCERT syllabus. Questions in the exam will be based on various concepts of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and English Proficiency.

The candidates should have passed the class 12th examination from a recognised Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Candidates must have adequate proficiency in English. Should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.

VITEEE:

Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology every year for admission to undergraduate engineering courses (BTech) of participating institutes. Every year, VITEEE is held to get students enrolled in various undergraduate courses. Around two lakh students apply for VITEEE every year. All the eligible candidates will be offered admission to B.Tech programmes at VIT Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amravati. Since 2018, the university is also offering admission to BDes (Industrial Design) through VITEEE.

Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology every year for admission to undergraduate engineering courses (BTech) of participating institutes. Every year, VITEEE is held to get students enrolled in various undergraduate courses. Around two lakh students apply for VITEEE every year. All the eligible candidates will be offered admission to B.Tech programmes at VIT Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Amravati. Since 2018, the university is also offering admission to BDes (Industrial Design) through VITEEE.
