Numerous engineering institutions in the state are slated to start delivering these courses beginning in the academic year 2023–2024 as a consequence of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) launching new programmes in semiconductor design.
The BTech or BE (Electronics) level will give one of these courses, VLSI Design and Technology, while the diploma level will provide the other topic, Integrated Circuit (IC) Manufacturing. VLSI is taught to electrical and computer science students in Telangana, although it is not yet accessible as a speciality. The Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw presented these new courses on February 19th. Any college, university, or technical institution that is linked with AICTE may opt to offer these courses, the minister declared after the course’s launch.
Department of Education personnel noted that they are prepared to give the necessary help to universities that seek to offer these courses.
“Until the AICTE announces the clearance guidelines, it would be too early for us to offer these courses. Yet, we are prepared to provide the institutions any type of help, adds Navin Mittal, commissioner of, department of technical education.
