As winter approaches the coastline of Chennai city, bells ring all over the city indicating the beginning of an extravaganza fest Technovit tailored to tech enthusiasts. Covering over fifty thousand people throughout the world under a single roof, VIT Chennai is proud to host its very own technical fest from the 19th of September to the 21st of September, a three-day fun-filled activity engagement based event focused on the epicenter of innovations, ideas, and hackathons.
Over the course of three days, organizers have aligned each day with specific concepts, and more than 500 activities take place simultaneously. With 60% majority of VIT students participating, the students call it their very own tech junction that allows them to gain deeper insights into various technologies spread through. The idea started from VIT Vellore’s age-old technical fest called “GraVITas”. The idea which once laid a seed has now turned out to be a mighty tree of thoughts and innovations. Not only does the fest involve technical aspects, but it also gives equal importance to fun activities, games, food parks, collaborations, and an open mic stage.
Technovit – In a Gist
- The first Day is usually opened with a profound chief guest invited. It is accompanied by the vice president Mr. Sekar Viswanathan and the university chancellor.
- Several activities set alight immediately after the inauguration. Activities like Robomaze, LLM Challenge, ROS workshops, Seminars, etc commence with significant notes.
- Organizers set up over 50 stalls for shopping and eateries in a large cricket ground, where students enjoy the ambiance.
- On the second day, organizers continue these activities and focus on tech talks by renowned industrial experts. Last year, key figures included ISRO Group Director Mrs. Jeyanthi Rajesh and Worldline Global Senior Vice-President Mr. Jose Raj.
- Technovit saw 20,000+ students coming from IITs, NITs, and other foreign universities like Malaysia, Cambodia, Canada etc.
- On the final day, most of the competitions hold their final round of contest, declaring the winners and posting that a Thanksgiving ceremony has been organized. Top invitees along with VIT’s board members felicitate the winners.
