SARGAM is a National Level inter collegiate cultural fest, which provides a great opportunity for the students to involve themselves in various activities which are quite diverse and challenging. It takes place every onset of winter in the lush campus of New Horizon College of Engineering, Bangalore. For the year 2024, it is going to take place on 29th and 30th of November with the theme delightfully on “BHARAT”. It is branded using tags like sargam fest 2024.
About the college:
New Horizon College of Engineering, an autonomous institution affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC). NAAC has accredited it with an ‘A’ grade. Located in the heart of Bangalore, India’s IT capital, the college campus lies within the IT corridor, surrounded by MNCs and IT giants such as Intel, Accenture, Capgemini, ARM, Symphony, Wipro, Nokia, JP Morgan, and Cisco.
NHCE has a scenic and serene campus that provides an environment which is conducive for personal and intellectual growth. The infrastructure acts as a facilitator for the effective delivery of the curriculum. NHCE boasts of state-of-the-art facilities for its students. They are given utmost encouragement in their areas of interest by providing hi-tech facilities backed by faculty support. The institute places highest priority on innovative programs that include both traditional classroom theory and professional skills training. There is a strong impetus on overall personality development of the students with emphasis on soft skills.

This year the theme is going to be “Bharat” turning the tables into a feeling of nationalism and also realising the true taste of culture and heritage of our nation.
Last year Edition:
SARGAM 2023 was based on the theme of ‘Ramleela’, was inaugurated on 1st December 2023. The event witnessed participation from over 20,000 students from 304 colleges across the nation, with senior and junior events. The festival aimed to reveal the genius in each participant through the energy and glorious power of Shri Ram. The inauguration ceremony kicked off a vibrant celebration of talent and creativity, showcasing diverse cultural expressions and artistic endeavors. Our school shone brightly, winning prizes in seven of the fifteen events.
Last year Winners:
Sur Sangam and Sur Milan participants claimed first prize with their evocative performances, while FIFA Gaming, Beat The Street, Spotlight, and Ram Katha participants captivated the audience and secured second place. Finally, our Contemporary Dance team earned a commendable third prize.
These victories were not just trophies; they were testaments to the dedication and talent of our students. Looking ahead, this year’s success has set the bar high. The cash prizes won are a welcome boost for nurturing our school’s artistic endeavors. As the echoes of Sargam 2023 fade, they leave behind a valuable lesson in collaboration and perseverance.
Exciting Games:
The lush green campus witnessed a melting pot of cultural experiences, fostering unity in diversity and providing a platform for the expression of artistic talents with the theme RAMLEELA. On all the three days, the campus experienced a festive mood with a buzzing bazaar feel. There were stalls selling quaint little trinkets, posters and interesting assortment of food and beverages. Events included Dances of India, Stage Play, Turn Coat, Gaming, Art Wave Painting, Sur-Sangam, Juke Box, Beat the Street, Freestyle Dance, The Next Top Model, Contemporary Dance, Short Movie Making, Improv, Sneaker Doodle, Desi Beats (Jr), Reel Making (Jr), and Pixel Fiesta Photography (Sr).
The highlight of Sargam 2023 was the Mega Event, “RAM KATHA,” featuring powerful dance performances from various colleges, celebrating the “Victory of good over evil.”
The events were divided into 5 stars, 4 stars,3 stars, 2-stars and single-star events and prize money varied accordingly. SARGAM 2023 concluded with a stunning performance by the youth diva & Indian singer Ms. Dhvani Bhanushali and DJ Saket Maskara.
Expectations this year:
Sargam Fest 2024 will offer all attendees complimentary access to fun and educative workshops. Juke Box will give students from various colleges a platform to express their passion for dance. The fest will conclude with a DJ night. It draws large crowds from the IT industry, alumni of New Horizon Educational Institution, and students from colleges across Karnataka.
Excitement, thrill, and high energy define the month-long preparation for this Mega State-Level Inter-Collegiate Cultural Fest. Expertly planned and flawlessly executed, it reigns as the King of Bangalore College Events. Its uniqueness lies in being entirely a “by the students, for the students, and of the students” show.
