About the Job
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is inviting applications for the position of Project Research Scientist – I (Non-Medical) under an ICMR-funded project focused on developing an exoskeleton for the rehabilitation of leprosy-affected individuals with motor paralysis of the hand. The role involves biomechanics research, rehabilitation engineering, and assistive device development. The selected candidate will work closely with engineers, clinicians, and rehabilitation specialists to create innovative solutions for patients. This is a full-time, research-based position with a monthly stipend of ₹56,000 + HRA, and the duration of the project is three years.
Skill(s) required
a) Mandatory:
- Strong understanding of biomechanics, human anatomy (hand function), and rehabilitation engineering.
- Experience with assistive device development and leprosy-related motor impairments.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to design and develop effective rehabilitation solutions.
b) Good to Have:
- Knowledge of 3D visualization techniques and biomedical engineering applications.
- Prior experience working on clinical research or assistive technology projects.
- Ability to collaborate with medical professionals and engineers in a research setting.
