Empowering Future Engineers: New JNTU Engineering College in Hyderabad for BTech Courses 2023-24

Hyderabad: Commencing this academic year, a gateway to engineering education is swinging open wider within the precincts of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) – Hyderabad, as the state’s visionary move unfolds. With an additional constituent college nestled under the university’s wings, more aspiring students are set to tread the path of innovation and technical prowess.

The halls of JNTU will soon resonate with the enthusiasm of budding engineers, thanks to the recent green light from the Higher Education department for the establishment of the JNTU Engineering College at Mahabubabad. Anticipation mounts for the academic year 2023-24, when this fledgling institution is all set to welcome its inaugural batch.

A bouquet of five meticulously crafted courses awaits the young minds, inviting them to embrace the world of technology. The canvas of possibilities includes BTech specializations like Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), CSE with a Data Science flair, Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), and the time-honored domain of Mechanical Engineering. Each of these disciplines will witness the eager faces of 60 students, forming a cohort of innovation enthusiasts.

As the years roll on, the college envisions a gradual crescendo in its academic landscape. An impressive 1,200-strong student body will call this institution their educational home within the span of the next four years. This visionary expansion is a testament to the state government’s commitment to nurturing the seeds of technological progress and human capital development.

The origins of this promising venture trace back to the expert committee recommendations by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE). A harmonious collaboration between the committee and officials from JNTU-Hyderabad paved the way, as they scoured the district’s contours for a suitable canvas. A picturesque expanse of 70 acres emerged as the ideal foundation for this academic haven, with an estimated investment of Rs 230 crore to shape the dreams of future engineers.

Marking the latest addition to this educational odyssey, the State government’s progressive stride has now ushered in the third constituent college since the transformative year of 2014. This educational symphony, orchestrated by the government, has witnessed the birth of University Colleges of Engineering in the vibrant districts of Rajanna Sircilla and Wanaparthy. Not to be overshadowed, the realm of pharmaceutical sciences also found its haven in the form of the University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Sultanpur.

With this latest approval, the academic constellation of the university now boasts an impressive six constituent colleges. Each of these institutions stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the state to empower its youth with knowledge and skills that will shape the course of the future.

As the gears of preparation churn, the university gears up to unfurl its operations right from the current academic year. The journey begins with a plea to the local administration for the use of a temporary abode that will house the aspirations and dreams of countless young minds. A senior official, brimming with enthusiasm, shared this insight into the imminent endeavors of the institution.

The curtain rises on a significant opportunity for aspiring engineers as the new college throws open its gates for admission. The stage is set for the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) 2023 special phase counseling, which embarks on its journey this Thursday. Within this academic auction, a total of 19,049 seats beckon eager candidates across a spectrum of engineering programs.
