NICE 23, the second edition of the National Inter-college Crossword Expedition, is a much-awaited event for crossword enthusiasts all over India. The first stage of NICE 23 is an online individual contest consisting of four rounds. This stage is critical as it determines the cumulative scores of participants at the end of the 4th round, which decides their qualification for the second stage. The second stage of the competition is an offline team contest, where the top performers from the first stage form two-member teams to represent their institutions in the five zonal finals. The winners of the zonal finals then converge on the national capital to play the grand finale and claim the national championship trophy.
The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, in association with the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, and Extra-C, a Patna-based civil society initiative, have organized the NICE 23 contest to promote a holistic educational environment in India.
