JNTU-Gurajada-Vizianagaram VC Urges Engineering Colleges to Adhere to NEP-2020 Guidelines for Student Skill Enhancement and Holistic Growth
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU)-Gurajada-Vizianagaram’s Vice-Chancellor K. Venkata Subbaiah urged engineering colleges to prioritize the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 guidelines. Speaking at the SITAM Engineering College’s five-day ‘hackathon’ as the chief guest, Prof. Subbaiah emphasized the importance of aligning with the latest recommendations to enhance students’ overall development.
Acknowledging the need for holistic development, Prof. Subbaiah called on participating colleges to incorporate the latest NEP recommendations in their curriculum. The NEP-2020 aims to transform the Indian education system by promoting student-centric and experiential learning, incorporating technology in education, and reducing the emphasis on rote learning.
The hackathon, hosted by the SITAM Engineering College, saw the enthusiastic participation of over 20 colleges. The event aimed to improve the technical skills of the students by providing them with a platform to showcase their innovation and creativity. The College Correspondent Botcha Jhansi and Director Majji Sasibhusana Rao organized the event, ensuring its smooth conduct.
In a bid to motivate the budding engineers, the event was graced by the presence of industry experts like Web Designing Company Brainovision Solutions’ CEO Ganesh Nag and Schema Tech CEO Sunkari Naidu. Their presence added value to the event, providing the students with a glimpse into the industry’s expectations and requirements.
