About the internship

  • Contribute to the design and development of IoT-based automation solutions for industrial processes.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate and deploy IoT technologies into existing systems.
  • Conduct research on emerging trends and advancements in industrial automation and IoT.
  • Assist in the testing and validation of IoT devices and systems, ensuring their reliability and efficiency.
  • Support the team in various engineering tasks and projects as required, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in IoT technology and propose innovative ideas for project improvement.
  • Effectively communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to team members and supervisors.
  • Assist in the identification and evaluation of new tools and technologies that enhance IoT capabilities.

Skill(s) required

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in embedded systems development is crucial. C/C++ is widely used for embedded programming, and knowledge of languages like Python and Java can also be beneficial.
  • Embedded Systems Development: Understanding the fundamentals of embedded systems is essential. This includes knowledge of microcontrollers, microprocessors, real-time operating systems (RTOS), firmware development, and hardware-software integration.
  • Electronics and Circuit Design: Basic knowledge of electronics, circuit design, and PCB (Printed Circuit Board) layout is important for understanding the hardware components of IoT devices and their integration.
  • Communication Protocols: Familiarity with various communication protocols used in IoT, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, MQTT, and HTTP, is necessary. Understanding how to implement and work with these protocols is crucial for device connectivity and data transmission.
  • Sensor Integration: IoT devices often rely on sensors to collect data from the physical world. Familiarity with sensor technologies, such as temperature sensors, humidity sensors, accelerometers, GPS, etc., and how to integrate them into embedded systems is valuable.
  • Data Handling and Analytics: Understanding how to handle and process data generated by IoT devices is important. Knowledge of data storage, data management, data analytics, and basic statistical analysis can be advantageous. 
  • Security Awareness: IoT security is a critical concern. Having an understanding of common security threats and best practices for securing embedded systems and data transmission is essential.
  • Debugging and Troubleshooting: Proficiency in debugging techniques and tools for embedded systems is important to identify and resolve issues that may arise during development.
  • Version Control Systems: Knowledge of version control systems like Git is valuable for collaboration and managing code repositories.
  • Documentation and Communication: Effective communication and documentation skills are crucial for documenting design decisions, writing clear and concise code comments, and collaborating with team members.
