Honouring Sidhu Moose Wala: Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College’s Gift to the Late Artist’s Parents.

Shubhdeep Singh, better known by his stage name Sidhu Moose Wala, was a renowned Punjabi singer, lyricist, and actor. However, what many people were unaware of was his passion for designing futuristic cars. Sidhu was not only a gifted artist but also an intelligent and creative mind, with a keen interest in engineering and technology.

Sidhu’s alma mater, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, recognized his talent and honoured him posthumously by gifting his parents with an electric car designed and built by him during his college days. The ceremony was held at the college’s annual day function, where Sidhu’s parents, Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur, were the chief guests.

The electric car was named ‘PB XI 5911’, a tribute to Sidhu’s love for the 5911 tractors, which is also reflected in the design of the car. The number on the car was handwritten by Sidhu himself, adding a personal touch to the gift. The Chairman of the cultural committee of GNDEC, Prof K S Mann, expressed his desire to give Sidhu’s parents a beautiful memory of their son on their visit to the college after several years and the tragic loss of their son.

The gift not only honoured Sidhu’s memory but also highlighted the importance of nurturing and recognizing the talents of students beyond academic excellence. Sidhu Moose Wala’s legacy will continue to inspire and encourage young minds to pursue their passions and create something unique and remarkable.
