Government Engineering College in Gonda is set to start operations with a budget of INR 1.5 crores

The government has started the process of running a government engineering college on the campus of the Rajkiya Polytechnic on the Uttaraula Road in Gonda city. The government had recently allocated a budget of one and a half crore rupees for the operation of the engineering college. Professor Govind Pandey of Madan Mohan Malaviya Technical University in Gorakhpur has been appointed as the executive director of this engineering college. Now, the hope of starting the operation of the engineering college has increased.

240 students were to be admitted to the engineering college for the first year. Four courses will be taught in the college, and a batch of 60 students has been decided for each course.

The foundation stone of this engineering college was laid in 2007, but construction could not start due to the change of government. After this, the foundation stone was laid again in 2016. The construction of the college was supposed to be done in 43 crores and 83 lakh rupees, and the work was to be completed in 2018. Despite most of the work being completed, the building of the college is still under construction. In the meantime, the state government has allocated one and a half crore rupees in the budget for the operation of this college. The appointment of the executive director has also been made. It is being believed that the admission process will start in the new academic session.
