Engineering Design Engineer
About the Job
Caterpillar is hiring a Design Engineer to contribute to the development and improvement of hydraulic excavator products. The role involves working on New Product Introduction (NPI), cost reduction initiatives, engineering maintenance, and product quality improvements. The engineer will collaborate with global teams to design, test, and implement innovative solutions. The position is based in Thiruvallur-RIOP CIPL Plant and requires both technical expertise and cross-functional coordination to ensure superior product performance.
Skill(s) required
a) Mandatory:
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic excavator systems, components, and design.
- Experience in Creo Modeling, Teamcenter, and Bill of Materials creation.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems in design, manufacturing, and testing.
b) Good to Have:
- Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and engineering maintenance.
- Familiarity with product cost-performance analysis.
- Understanding of automation, robotics, and computer-aided manufacturing processes.
