About the Job
Cloudera seeks a proactive, collaborative, curious, and customer-oriented Technical Support Engineer to join Frontline Support organization. The person will be responsible for understanding customer issues and providing support with empathy and a sense of urgency following our tried and tested Cloudera Diagnostic Methodology.
Customer Operations Engineers develop solid business, interpersonal, and technical skills in their open and collaborative environment to deliver the highest quality services to our valued customers.
Skill(s) required
- Strong technical understanding and problem-solving prowess, capable of diagnosing and troubleshooting intricate technical issues
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adept at conveying technical information to non-technical individuals
- A customer-centric mindset dedicated to delivering outstanding service
- Familiarity with support ticketing systems
- A willingness to continuously learn and keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and basic networking concepts
- A solid grasp of Linux, databases, or programming concepts
- Knowledge of the Hadoop stack, including HDFS, YARN, Hive, and Ranger, is advantageous

Other Requirements
- Offer remote technical support and operational guidance to both internal and external customers via Zoom, phone, and case updates
- Employ active listening to grasp customer issues and their business impact, swiftly driving resolution with urgency
- Embrace learning by continually expanding your technical and soft skill sets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering, product management, and quality assurance, to tackle complex technical issues effectively
- Set clear and friendly customer expectations to ensure maximum satisfaction.
- Proactively contribute to our Knowledge Base and Community with helpful articles and posts
- Maintain thorough documentation of customer interactions, issues, and solutions using our support ticketing system
- Be available for occasional weekend and holiday on-call duties
