Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is one of the most prestigious space institutes in the world. After the success of Chandrayaan 3, it gained global recognition for passing out missions that not only helped in the development of its own country but also shared valuable insights into space relevant to the world. ISRO Scientific and Technical Category:

  • Scientist/Engineer posts are for graduates, postgraduates, and doctorates in the fields of Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, etc. The recruitment is done through ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB)
  • Technical Assistant/Scientific Assistant posts are for Diploma/B Sc or equivalent degree in various specializations. Various Centres/Units/Autonomous Bodies conduct the recruitment.
  • Technician/Draughtsman posts are for candidates with education qualifications of SSLC/SSC/MATRIC + ITI/NTC/NAC. The ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB) conducts the recruitment.

Administrative category:

  • Posts of Administrative Officer, Accounts Officer, Purchase & Stores Officer, Assistants, and Junior Personnel Assistants are filled using various examinations. The recruitment is done through ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB).

The selection committee will initially screen candidates based on academic performance and other parameters given in the online applications. The recruitment team will call only those candidates who pass the screening for a written test/interview according to ISRO Recruitment procedures. The candidate should have secured at least 65% marks in the UG/PG course and the age criterion is 35 years for unreserved category.

The educational qualifications are:

  • BE/B. Tech
  • B.Sc. + BE/B. Tech lateral entry
  • Diploma + BE/B. Tech Lateral Entry
  • B.Sc. Engineering

The different fields which are hired for scientific and technical posts are:

  • Electronics – Applied electronics, communication, electronics and communication, Industrial electronics, power electronics, electronics and telecommunication, electronics and instrumentation, telecommunication, and avionics.
  • Mechanical – Metallurgy, production engineering, aerospace engineering, mechatronics, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, production management, industrial management, aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering.
  • Computer science

And for administrative posts is graduation from any field.

The application procedure is:

  • Check the eligibility to apply for the job
  • Submit applications for the job online.
  • While applying for the job the candidate should provide all the necessary documents. Whether it be academic, personal, or address, there would be no excuse for failing to submit the required documents.
  • Once you have completed the registration online, you will be provided an online registration number. Save this number for future use.
  • If a candidate currently employed in a private or public sector applies for the job, he or she must obtain a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their current employer.

The candidate will have to pay an application fee of INR 100. You could pay the application fee via debit card, credit card, or offline through the nearest SBI bank. If the candidate is from a reserved category, Ex-servicemen, a person with a disability, does not have to pay any application fee.
