Ra-One (2011)
It is considered one of the most ambitious film projects around its time. This action-adventure drama film features Shahrukh Khan in the lead role. Anubhav Sinha directed this film, featuring Arjun Rampal as the main cast who plays the role of a game’s antagonist character that emerges into the real world. The filmmakers used a visually creative approach, shooting most of the scenes on green screens, which was a novel technique for Bollywood at that time. They later released the film as a 3D movie. The film cost around 150 crores to produce, making it one of the most-costly Indian Cinema ever made.
Robot (2010)
The movie which was formerly called Enthiran is a Tamil sci-fi film directed by S. Shankar and stars Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles. It focuses on the conflict faced by the scientist Vaseegaran after his android robot, Chitti, goes berserk. However, the plan goes to waste when the machine falls in love with the scientist’s girlfriend. The film was well received by the audience and the critics mostly praising the visual effects.
