ABOUT THE COLLEGE
EASWARI ENGINEERING COLLEGE (EEC), a division of SRM Group of Educational Institutions for higher learning is functioning under the aegis of “Valliammai Society”. The society was founded in the year 1975, for promoting the cause of Quality Education, by Dr. T. R. Pachamuthu, an Academician and Educationist. EEC was instituted in the academic year 1996 – 1997, with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi. The college is affiliated to Anna University, since 2002. The courses have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation(NBA)/AICTE and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The College offers eight Under-Graduate Programmes, eleven Post Graduate Programmes and seven Research Nodal Centres under Anna University covering ‘Engineering & Technology’, ‘Computer Applications’ and ‘Management’. The college has a strong Industry-Interaction with reputed National and International organizations. The college has obtained ISO 9001: 2008 Certification from TUV South Asia.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Information Technology offers B.Tech. Degree programme in IT as well as M.E. degree programme in Software Engineering. The department has secured permanent affiliation from Anna University and is accredited by NBA and NAAC. To emerge as a ‘Center of Excellence for Higher Studies’ and specialization in ‘Information Technology’ and ‘Software Development’ and be a strategic partner in the Industrial Advancement arena, by imparting Quality Education towards the holistic development of students, with emphasis on ‘Professional Ethics and Values’. To accomplish and maintain International eminence in ‘IT Education’ and become a model department, through development of minds, advancement of knowledge and professional skills, to meet the global demands.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
A majority of the poor in rural areas of the world primarily depend on the wages they earn through unskilled labour. In the event of inadequate labour demand or in the face of unpredictable crises like natural disaster or personal such as ill-health, their employment opportunities and livelihood are adversely affected. In this global scenario, the use of Information and Communication Technologies should solve the issues pertaining to poverty alleviation, unemployment, under employment, managing unskilled manual workers with short-term employment, making use of their available skill sets for irrigation, infrastructure building, reforestation, soil conservation, road construction etc. This International conference will present various innovative ideas on how to carry out income transfer to poor households during critical times through the use of ICT for Agriculture and Rural Development.
